We warmed up be playing 4 songs: Carnival in Venice, Wiegenlied, Morning Has Broken, and Russian Lullaby as a 3 part canon (round). That's 4 more songs to add to your repertoire.
As I said in class, I am very impressed with your progress and especially your ability to play the rhythms. Dotted quarter notes? No problem!
Now we start on the F scale which is all the same notes as the C scale EXCEPT Bb. And there are 2 Bb's in first position on the ukulele.
For next week, practice both parts of the F scales on Pages 28 and 30, using the rhythm matrix's to practice that scale AND practice exercises on pages 29 and 31.
Also, practice Au clair de la lune on page 33, both parts. Note that the harmony (uke II) is higher that the melody in this song. We will also warm up with Johnny on the Woodpile, which is a call and response style of song (Uke I plays, then Uke II responds by playing the same phrase).
You can find a couple of F scale quizzes (for practice identifying the notes) on the Resource Page and slow recordings of Au clair de la lune and Johnny on the Woodpile.
