Make sure that your hand and fingers are relaxed. In the first line work to keep your 1st finger down while reaching up for the D. Do not look at your fingers. Work to be able to reach the D notes with your pinkie without looking. Don't press too hard. Just Relax....
Go ahead and practice Uke II. Remember that the B's and E's are flat! On both parts look for the places where you can use partial (or full) Bb chords to play the notes more easily.
Play slowly at first, then try to speed up a little.
slow down version of this song is on the resource page.
Next week we'll begin to work on Aloha 'Oe so you can go ahead and work on the notes if you like and we'll work out the rhythms in class.
Note: Aloha 'Oe is in the key of F but contains an F# in measure 11.
Remember that the Marcy Marxer/Cathy Fink workshops and the concert with the Go Janes is this coming Sunday. March 31.
