Use pages 20 and 21 to practice note recognition and the intervals between the pairs. Play the notes, and say the notes names and the the interval. Seems tedious but it will help you know the fretboard better and here the sound of the intervals.
Then... practice the notes in Rondeau. Start with the shift and movement up to the F (8th fret) in measure 5. Pay attention the to fingering indicated. Then practice the 8th note phrases in measures 2,10,14-14,19. Slow version on Resource Page.
If you get pretty confident with the notes in Uke I, go ahead and work on the notes in the Uke II part.
Also, remember to do some ear training by taking a 2 chord song and listening for when the chord changes occur. The song will tell you if you pay attention. Remember that with 2 chords songs you will be using the I and the V (or V7) chords.
If you have success with that, try some 3 chords songs that use I, IV and V. I have attached a page (below) of common 2 and 3 chords songs.
