Things we talked about last night:
* When working on the rhythm for a piece, don't obsess about those dots and flags. Figure the rhythm of a phrase then close your eyes and clap or play it. Then try playing it with the music.
* Some tips for good vocal quality - support your voice with breath from the diaphram. Sit up straight. Smile. Work on singing with your "queen" voice, not from your throat. We'll work more on this as we go along.
* Chord construction - when practicing your basic chords think about where your 1, 3 and 5 notes are in that chord.
∆∆∆ Fais dodo - pg 45 - NOTICE that this is in 6/8 time. Become familiar with the notes and we will work on the rhythm in class
∆∆∆ Shortnin' Bread - also a rhythmic exercise
∆∆∆ Chord changes from C to F to G (or G7). We'll do some strumming exercises
∆∆∆ - Jingle Bells - parts - Uke I (Megan, Alan, David, Mayrus) Uke II (Vivian, Julie, Chip, Wes, Kathy) Uke III (Louise, Gary, Michael, Judy, Les) If you were not in class last night, play the Uke I part.
