Good work on the F scale. Use the neck diagram above to find the notes in the F scale all on the E string. (F, G, A, Bb, C, D, E, F). Find the major scale notes and pattern:
(whole step, whole step, half step, whole step, whole step, whole step, half step)
For next week:
∆∆∆ Continue practicing your F scale exercises, particularly page 31
∆∆∆ Donkey Riding - pg 36
∆∆∆ In The Bleak Midwinter (perfect for this time of year) pg 37
∆∆∆ Auwe Ke Aloha E - pg 38
∆∆∆ Jingle Bells - (3 pages) Remember that all of the F's are SHARP - that means they are one fret above our regular F (2nd fret, E string) ALSO - if you are missing some notes in the Uke 3 part on the bottom of page 3, they are both open G.
We will start working on this next week and I would like for us all to play this with Evelyn's class at the Dec 7 BUG Christmas party (scanned copy attached - 3 pages) You will have to download the 3 pages separately.
∆ - Solo Version of Long, Long Ago (strictly optional). If you choose to try this, practice all of the notes first and then try playing it and emphasize the melody notes so that they can be heard. The best way to do this is to de-emphazie the non-melody notes - play them softly.
Below are slow version of the songs above - except Jingle Bells, which I will try to record later this week and send out.
Bleak Midwinter and Auwe Ke Aloha E are already quite slow on the CD so I encourage you to try to play along with that version.
