Ciribiribin provided us with a very good beginning place to start working up and across the neck. This will ultimately give you wonderful new freedom with your playing.
We'll play Spring Song again on May 27th. Please practice both parts focusing on the rhythm and finding (gracefully) those notes up the neck.
UBC Practice Sheet - This is a great practice sheet for learning new chords and making chord changes. This week we transposed into the key of G, in our next class we'll play it in F. For Gail's quick and dirty guide to transposing, write out your (original) scale -in this case C, they write the new scale right below it. Then replace the chord and it's quality (minor, 7th, diminished, etc) with the note just below in the new scale,
C D E F G A B C
G A B C D E F# G
So…… C becomes G, Em becomes Bm, A7 becomes E7, Dm7 becomes Am7, etc.
Continue to practice Saints,
On the 27th we will also play When Irish Eyes are Smiling and My Grandfather's Clock (chords and notes) and talk about secondary dominant 7th chords.
SEE YOU ON MAY 27 !
