Intervals are not nearly as confusing as they seem at first. Absorb what you can, and you'll get a bit more the next time we talk about it.
For Next Week continue working on the C scale by practicing :

∆∆∆ Carnival of Venice (pg 19) Sniff if you need to, to observe the rests.
∆∆∆ Interval exercises (pg 20-21) Simply play and sing the notes and identify the intervals using the scale numbers on Ex 1, pg 20.
