It is helpful to say the note names and you play them but keep in mind that every note has two names. Bb is also A#.
We play Bill Grogan's Goat enough times to practice the chords in the key of Bb and also picked the melody. Likewise with Little Brown Jug. Remember to practice the new chords and you can use exercises on pg 34 to do that.
For those you who are on Spring Break and missed the class, you will want to practice Latin Time, which we will play again next week. This is a really fun song and is easier to learn by ear. If you missed the class, you might want to try learning it off of the CD, or at least listen to it a few times before trying it.
!!!!!! It has been decided that we will continue for an 8 week spring session beginning on TUESDAY April 15 at 6:30 (next week will be on Wednesday at 7:00). I have decided to switch to Tuesday because I really need to consolidate classes in order to free up my schedule while preparing for the Orchestra's June concert (June 28) and many family visits in Spring and Summer.
Andrea is not available to be with us on Tuesdays but I will work with her to help her finish Book 2 and maybe she can jump back in the class in the Fall ??!?!?!
During the Spring we will finish Book 2 and I will be supplementing the material with some other things (finger picking, more chord melody, more theory, etc) but we will NOT start working in Book 3 until Fall.
PRACTICE GERMAN DANCE (Mozart) for next week. Slow version is below: You might begin by playing the Uke II part along with the recording.
