Thank You, Michael, for bring Today. It's a lovely song making very good use of the major and minor chords in a key.
Playing the chords in the key of F (pg 9) gives us good practice making some new chords (Gm) and practicing new chord progressions. The exercises on page 10 and The Ryans and the Pittmans all will increase your ability to make those changes and identify the chords by the numeral.
Now for Hornpipe from Water Music. Aren't you glad we have been practicing the F scale?? Start by Practicing Measures 22-27. Measure 22 is where we shift up the neck with your first finger on the 5th fret. Stay up there until the middle of measure 27, then shift back down.
Please practice both Uke I and II on Hornpipe (slow version below).
Next we will move on to Lesson 8: Chords in Bb. Here we add the Cm chord to the ones we have already practiced. At our next class we will also play Sweet Betsy from Pike in the key of Bb with 2 flats.
I will see you on Oct. 6
