You Bring Me Coffee
Program Notes:
This sweet swing piece by Gail MacDonald is a great song with which to practice Django Reinhart's dampening technique. There are different approaches to dampening chords. Try some and use the method you you like best. One technique is to gently play the closed chord and promptly release the chord with the left hand. The strum (Down Down) can be played with the right thumb pad or the index finger and nail.
This is a good song for improving your skills at playing closed chords up the neck. The chord sheet pdf below provides shape options. One option for the F chords is to play them all as an F6, Bar 5. A more difficult version of the closed F is 5553. Try them both and pick the one that sounds best to you on your uke.
The last chord - C - scrub it down then up.
